An avid hockey fan, Salim Karim isn’t afraid to show his Canuck colors, even when the chips are down. His dedication as a fan is apparent with his Jersey proudly worn to the office during playoff season this year. “There is a cliché in the hockey world, that the best players have to be the best players,” he states matter-of-factly, and no one knows better about being the best player than Salim. The Lonsdale Quay Hotel ranked 4th in its respective category On November 30th, BC Business held the 9th Annual “Best Companies to Work for in BC” gala at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. There were over 600 people who attended the awards, and more than 100 companies that took part from across British Columbia. The awards were mostly broken-out by industry sectors, which made for some good competition throughout the night. Small steps, big beliefs

Family charity aims to aid unwed mothers in Muslim Pakistan. A North Shore family is taking their passion for music to another level with a charitable concert at Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver on Sunday. The concert aims to bring awareness to the dire situation of unwed mothers and their babies in Northern Pakistan.The Karim family — father Amin, mother Nermin, daughter Safiya (16), son Zia (14), son Fillah (13) and son Jamil (8) — is a family of performers.They were seeking a way to blend their unique identity and they found it in creating music.
