An avid hockey fan, Salim Karim isn’t afraid to show his Canuck colors, even when the chips are down.
His dedication as a fan is apparent with his Jersey proudly worn to the office during playoff season this year. “There is a cliché in the hockey world, that the best players have to be the best players,” he states matter-of-factly, and no one knows better about being the best player than Salim. As the team leader and the youngest of three principals that make up The InnHouse Group of Companies team, his recent nomination for Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of Retail through Ethno BC, comes as no surprise. Salim’s list of recent accolades includes Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 Under 40 and fastest growing companies in BC. For those who work closely with Salim it is immediately apparent that he is always ‘in the game’ and that he’s in it to win. Ethno BC, a local group dedicated to assisting new Canadian Entrepreneurs to succeed in BC, recognizes the efforts of immigrant Entrepreneurs annually by presenting a series of awards in honour of the outstanding success of these individuals. Dedication to his business, and his entrepreneurial drive were a significant part of the reason Ethno BC deemed Salim 2010’s Entrepreneur of the Year. Salim will be presented his award during the 19th Annual BC New-Canadian Entrepreneur Awards at the Hyatt Regency in mid May.
